What Wearing Bling Did for Me

I suppose you could call me a walking marketing campaign – and an unwitting one at that.

Let me explain. Besides acting as Bon’s Eye editor-in-chief, I also design and make jewelry in my spare time. This started as a hobby a couple years ago, at the urging of my friend (and Sarah’s mother), Laura.

“Look,” I said to her one spring evening back in 2007. “I just need something creative to do, something I can get my hands on that doesn’t involve computers or business writing.”

Genius or Just Annoying?

I can’t get this song out of my head. Sometimes, I even do the hand motions. Subway’s advertising agency is probably trying to convince them that it’s a good thing? But since they started this ad campaign, have I eaten fresh? Nope. In fact, I haven’t been to a Subway in months, and I certainly don’t want to go now. So how effective is this ad?

Probably the worst “jingle” award, though, should go to Toyota for “Saved by Zero.” Just when I had forgotten that one …

What do you think? Am I leaving out a really bad one?
