Riverwalk. Some people even got as specific as the exact location on the Riverwalk – outside the Pilot House.
This is one of our favorite places to go. And we’re not the only ones. A recent New Hanover County Tourism Development Authority survey ranked the nearly two-mile Riverwalk as the No. 1 visited attraction in the area. Plans are for it to eventually span from the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge to the Isabel Holmes Bridge.
Thanks to all who submitted a guess! In the weeks to come, we’re going to make “Where in Wilmington is Bud the Bonsai” a bit more interesting. The first person to send us the correct answer will win a prize. More details to come.

Ok, so it’s been a while since Bud has made an appearance on the blog. Our original vision was to have weekly photos, showcasing not only our lovely fake bonsai but also the Cape Fear region. That’s still the goal. With the weather getting warmer (and the pollen count hopefully taking a nosedive), now we have an excuse to take Bud outdoors.
So, where did Bud recently take a stroll? Come on, this is an easy one!

La Gemma, located at 2323 S. 17th St. near New Hanover Regional Medical Center, is a fantastic bakery that opened just before Christmas. Owner and chef Roberta Campani was born and raised in Tuscany, Italy. She imports most of the ingredients from Italy. We can’t say enough about this place! If you want some amazing pastries, cakes or Italian bread, stop by La Gemma. Ciao!

Can you guess where Bud visited on Monday? Since this is the first installment of “Where in Wilmington is Bud the Bonsai,” I’ll offer a hint. If you read my updates on Twitter or Facebook, I recently mentioned this business. Check back soon for the correct answer.
